From the start you should understand some basic database terminology such as relational database, table, field, record and query.
A relational database is consisted of multiple linked tables of data organized by columns, rows, and cells.
A table contains a collection of data, that is represented by one or more columns (fields) and one or more rows (records) of data.
A field is a category of information stored in a database and is also known as column.
The rows in a table are referred to as records.
A query is a group of Structured Query Language (SQL) statements that allow you to retrieve and update data in your tables and can be used to select, insert, delete, or update all data or specific data in one or more tables.
