Tags: VB.NET, VB 2008, VB 2010, VB 2012, VB 2013

The following tutorial will show you how to create a text editor or a wordpad. The feature of this tutorial is that the user will be able to change the font type and size. The color of the font, alignment of the text, and background color can also be changed.
RichTextBox TextBox- vb.net

Source code is availabe at the end of this tutorial.

First create a New Project, then add a RichTextBox to the form. In my project I adjusted the size of the form to 1252, 608 and the RichTextBox size to 712, 520

I also adjusted the RichTextBox border style to None

I will leave the background color or image for you to chose. I will focus more on the coding part.

Add 16 Buttons to the form. Each button will perform a task, such as copy, cut, paste, change color, etc...

Notice that I have add a background image for each button. You don't have to do that for now. As I mentioned earlier I will leave the designing part for you.

Below is the order of the buttons place on the form from left to right:

UndoButton
ReDoButton
BoldButton
ItalicButton
FontButton
SizeUpButton
SizeDownButton
ChangeFontColorButton
ChangeHighliterColorButton
ChangeBackgroundColorButton
alignLeftButton
AlignCenterButton
AlignRightButton
CopyButton
PasteButton
CutButton
